Researching and writing on race, religion, and belonging:
I earned a Ph.D. in Religious Studies at Indiana University and interested in American religions especially exploring gender and race in the U.S. with an emphasis on Asian American cultural productions, citizenship, and transpacific Christianities. I am an adjunct faculty member of Iliff School of Theology.
I am an ordained clergy in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and serve as co-pastor of First Presbyterian Church, Annapolis, MD.
I am a teacher, writer, and speaker on American Christianity, purity culture, Asian American religion and culture, and church and faith. Most recently, you can find me at the Center for Faith + Justice, American Examples, and Enfleshing Witness (Church Anew) among other projects.
I invite you to subscribe to my Substack newsletter Imagine Otherwise, where I reflect on the entanglement of religion and race, Asian American literature and culture, and engaging practices of belonging and solidarity, as well as for regular updates on what I’m working on and through here: miheekimkort.substack.com
